Liverpool Football Club has launched their new kit for the 2023/24 season and most fans seem to love it, including ourselves here at Team Kop-ish.
Paying homage to the legendary Bill Shankly's last season in charge of the Reds 50 years ago, the kit is heavily inspired by the design worn by the Reds in the 1973-74 season, a season which saw the squad win that year's FA Cup.
The striking kit features the signature bright red synonymous with Liverpool club throughout the body and the majority of the sleeves with a bold brilliant white contrast on the round-neck collar and sleeve endings.
Some have called the kit 'boring' and 'lazy', however, we feel the 'less is more' approach with this kit made by Nike is one of the best-looking home kits in recent memory.
Similar to another previous Liverpool home kit, the 2023/34 kit bares a striking resemblance to the 1998-2000 home kit worn by the likes of Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Steven Gerrard and Steve McManaman. For our younger readers, 1998 -2000 isn't a typo, back in the good old days home kits used to be made for two seasons, and they were a lot cheaper.
Speaking of cheaper, these modern-day kits couldn't be further from being cheap, but it must be said that the club doesn't set these prices, but by the manufacturer, Nike. So, let's not have a go at the club or owners for this.
So all in all, a win for us but we'd love to know your thoughts, and which player are you most looking forward to seeing wearing this kit? Let us know if you like the kit. Vote below!
